GRANT \ Ballyliffin \ Clonmany \ emailed 25 Nov Michael My great-great-grandmother was Margaret Grant, born circa 1827 in Ballyliffin in Clonmany Parish in the northern portion of the Inishowen Peninsula. She and her family were Catholics. Grant was an Anglicization of the Irish surname which in English would be spelled Grannie, Graney or variations on that spelling. I recall that Grannie was used in the Tithe Survey.

GRANT \ Tromaty \ Muff \ & Carrowkeel \ Moville Upper \ emailed 25 Nov Maria replied Catherine Grant (b.pre 1820) was married to Charles Curran. There is no suitable Charles Curran in the 1858 GV for this area, or was already dead.
